Saddle Up

.For no one can lay any foundation
other than the one already laid,
which is Jesus Christ. 1
Corinthians.3:11
When we get ready to ride we
first saddle up the horse. This
becomes the firm foundation from
which we can work for the ride may
get a little rough.
There are many jobs you can do from horse back. Some of these jobs
require you to tie on to a firm foundation such as roping a steer to
be brand or treated. Without the saddle seated firmly on the horses
back it is easy to be pulled off your horse which can result in great harm to the rider. So when we saddle up we check our cinch, belly strap, and breast collar to make sure that the
foundation that we are going to be working from is firmly seated. Is your foundation in Christ firmly seated? Have you checked your cinch recently? Much like the saddle in which we work from
God has given us a foundation for our daily life which is His Word, and a Helper to help us check our cinch which is the Spirit. We are
told to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and much like the saddle there are many parts of the armor to keep your
life foundation firmly seated so that we may be ready for any thing. We may get a little shook up but will not have unnecessary harm brought to us. So take the time and check your cinch daily.
Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and
in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor
of God, so that you can take your stand against
the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not
against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of
this dark world and against the spiritual forces
of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore
put on the full armor of God, so that when the
day of evil comes, you may be able to stand
your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with
the belt of truth buckled around your waist,
with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness
that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In
addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,
with which you can extinguish all the flaming
arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of
salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all
occasions with all kinds of prayers and
requests. With this in mind, be alert and always
keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
